Community Academy operates at facilities made available to Kilgore Academy, Inc. by Calvary Christian Center. KAI is an independent nonprofit organization and is responsible for the administration, staffing, supervision, curriculum, policies, and operation of Community Academy. Calvary Christian Center's provision of facilities does not make the church the operator of Community Academy.
RESPECT FOR THE HOST CHURCH & PROPERTY
Students, parents, staff, volunteers, and visitors must treat Calvary Christian Center, its pastors, staff, members, guests, building, grounds, furnishings, equipment, and property respectfully.
Participants must remain in areas authorized for KAI use; follow instructions concerning classrooms, gym, restrooms, hallways, offices, kitchen, sanctuary, parking areas, and other spaces; and may not enter restricted areas without permission and appropriate supervision.
Church property may not be borrowed, moved, consumed, altered, or used without authorization. This includes musical instruments, sound or audiovisual equipment, computers, office supplies, ministry materials, food, decorations, athletic equipment, and personal property belonging to church staff or members.
Students and families should immediately report accidental damage. Intentional, reckless, or negligent damage may result in discipline and, to the extent permitted by law and applicable agreements, responsibility for repair or replacement.
Questions or disagreements concerning facility requirements should be directed to KAI administration rather than argued with church personnel.
ASSUMPTION OF ORDINARY ACTIVITY RISKS
Parents/guardians acknowledge that Community Academy includes ordinary educational, recreational, physical education, gym, recess, and movement activities and that participation may involve ordinary risks of accidental injury. Students are expected to follow safety instructions and participate within their abilities. Parents must inform KAI of restrictions or circumstances KAI reasonably needs to know for safe participation.
HOST CHURCH RELEASE & INDEMNIFICATION
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the parent/legal guardian agrees that participation in Community Academy is voluntary and agrees to be responsible for claims, damages, losses, or expenses caused by the intentional, reckless, negligent, or wrongful acts of the parent/guardian, student, or persons attending at the family's invitation.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the parent/legal guardian agrees to release, defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Calvary Christian Center and its pastors, officers, employees, representatives, and agents from third-party claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses arising from the student's participation in KAI Community Academy or use of the host facility, except to the extent resulting from the gross negligence, reckless misconduct, or intentional misconduct of the party seeking protection.
Nothing in this provision is intended to waive a right that cannot legally be waived or to require indemnification or release where prohibited by law. KAI remains responsible for the operation and supervision of its Community Academy program.
