Dear Prospective Family,

Thank you for your interest in Kilgore Academy, Inc. (“KAI”). Choosing a school is one of the most significant decisions a family can make. We are honored that you are considering partnering with us in the education of your child. Kilgore Academy exists to assist families in educating their children while providing academic excellence and promoting the culture of Christ through love. We believe that parents are the primary educators of their children, and our desire is to partner with families by providing a Christ-centered educational environment that encourages students to grow spiritually, academically, socially and personally. Our educational philosophy is built upon the conviction that all truth is God’s truth. We will be Spirit-led and strive to cultivate wisdom, integrity, servant leadership, strong academic foundations, and Biblical character while encouraging students to develop a lifelong love of learning. Because we desire every family to understand both our mission and our expectations, the admissions process is intentionally thorough. Admissions Process

The admissions process includes the following steps:

Step 1

Submit the completed Admissions Application together with the required application fee and all supporting documentation.

Step 2

Applications will be reviewed by school administration.

Step 3

The family may be invited to participate in an admissions interview.

Step 4

Applicants will be notified of the admissions decision.

Step 5

Families offered admission will receive an Enrollment Packet and instructions for completing enrollment.

Admission is based upon available classroom space, the student’s educational needs, the family’s willingness to partner with the Academy, and the Academy’s ability to provide an appropriate educational program.

We understand that admission to Kilgore Academy is based upon a partnership between the family and the school and that maintaining this partnership is essential to the success of our child.

Statement of Faith and Acknowledgements

About God: There is one God, who has revealed Himself as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh. He is both God and man. (See Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; I Timothy 3:16.)

About the Bible: The Bible is the infallible Word of God and the authority for salvation and Christian living. (See Il Timothy 3:15-17.)

About Sin and Salvation: Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. (See Romans 3:23-25; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9.)

About the Gospel: The saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel (II Thessalonians 1:8; I Peter 4:17) by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection). (See I Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4.)

About Our Fundamental Doctrine: The basic and fundamental doctrine is the Bible standard of full salvation, which is repentance, baptism in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. (See John 3:5, Acts 2:38.)

About Christian Living: As Christians we are to love God and others. We should live a holy life inwardly and outwardly, and worship God joyfully. The supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including healing, are for the church today. (See Mark 12:28-31; Il Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14; I Corinthians 12:8-10.)

About Sexuality: We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary sexes together reflect the image and nature of God (Gen. 1:26-27). Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.

About Marriage: We believe the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture (Gen. 2:18-25). We believe that marriage between one man and one woman, for life, uniquely reflects Christ’s relationship with His Church (Eph. 5:21-33). We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (1 Cor. 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb. 13:4). We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.

We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, cohabitation, homosexual behavior, rejection of one’s biological sex or use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God (Matt. 15:18-20; I Cor. 6:9-10).

We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ (Acts 3:19-21; Rom 10:9-10; 1 Cor. 6:9-11).

We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31). Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of the ministry.

About the Sanctity of Human Life: We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life (Ps. 139).

KAI is a Christ-centered educational ministry. The Academy seeks to provide an educational environment that is consistent with Biblical truth and the teachings reflected in its Statement of Faith.

The Academy recognizes that families may be at different places in their spiritual journey. All families are expected to understand that instruction, chapel services, Biblical integration throughout the curriculum, school activities, and the overall culture of the Academy will be consistent with the beliefs outlined in the Statement of Faith.

Admission to KAI is based upon the Academy’s mission, educational philosophy, available enrollment space, and the family’s willingness to support the school’s educational environment and expectations.
